We booked a vehicle with Urban Tours and Travels Srinagar on 3/4/25 by paying an advance of Rs 6000 for a planned trip to Kashmir in July 2025. They sent us a bill ( no. 370) of Urban Tours and Travels showing the dates of travel, full amount and advance amount. So far so good. After the unfortunate events of Phalgam killings, we decided to call off our tour as most of the places in our itinerary had travel bans. We informed Urban Tours and Travels in early June about cancellation of our travel plan and requested them to refund our advance. Urban Tours and Travels didn't return our advance and instead issued a credit note. Despite our repeated requests they said they don't return advance money. I am tod government travel department had instructed all tour companies to refund advance money to their tourist customers. Subsequently in July 2025 we visited Ladakh and on our return journey through Srinagar we wanted to visit a couple of places in Kashmir for which we asked Urban Tours and Travels to provide us vehicle against adjustment of our advance, for which Urban Tours and Travels quoted more than double of the car hire company we finally used. Basically they don't want to return our money and hang on to it on some pretext or the other. All other hotels/ resorts had returned our advance payments instantly. So I advise all travellers to desist from making advance payments to Urban Tours and Travels to avoid future disappointment.

I booked a tempo traveller through Urban tour and travels. It was a great decision and made my trip very convenient. Our driver was Umar who was a kind and adjusting driver with great local knowledge. Inspite of booking at the last minute during a rush season (31march-5 April), they arranged a great vehicle at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!!!
